همانطور که پیشتر در مطالبی از جمله «دیوید کمرون و شفافیت در دولت انگلستان» توضیح داده شد، دولت انگلستان برنامه‌ای جدی و پرسرعت را برای ترویج شفافیت در سطوح مختلف خود برنامه‌ریزی نمود. در ادامه، گزارشی از جدیدترین اسناد شفافیت این کشور در رابطه با «شفافیت در دولت‌های محلی» تقدیم می‌گردد. 

حسب این دستورالعمل، دولت‌های محلی موظف هستند که موارد زیر را با تفصیل و با مطابق دستورالعمل‌هایی که در ادامه ذکر می‌گردد، بصورت عمومی ارائه نمایند:

• هزینه‌کرد بالای 500 پوند - expenditure over £500
